Product Manager, Gigabit Applications, Google Fiber - Mountain View

The role: Product Manager, Gigabit Applications, Google Fiber

Google Fiber is an exciting new business for Google aiming to deploy next generation, gigabit Internet speeds to the home. Why join the Google Fiber team? Because we’ve got some ambitions. As product manager of Gigabit Applications, you will take the lead in defining the architecture and design of the gigabit application offerings. You’ll work with the Google Fiber team lead engineers, across other Google teams and external organizations to drive the launch of the product. You will be responsible for the overall success of the Google Fiber gigabit applications.

Responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for the overall success of the Google Fiber gigabit applications.
• Collaborate with our product marketing organization to set pricing and overall rates as we move forward.
• Serve as the point person for the user service in the marketplace.
• Take responsibility for the product and design requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field. In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant work experience.
• 5 years of experience in a product management, engineering and technology strategy role.
• Operational experience in telecommunications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS or Ph.D degree.
• 8 years of experience in a product management, engineering and technology role.
• Experience developing Internet products and technologies.
• Familiarity with business issues or the ability to quickly learn.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong technical abilities.
